Why We Support Umoja Greenlands 🌍🌱
Food justice is global. As advocates for vegan options in public spaces across Canada, we support Umoja Greenlands, a grassroots movement in Kenya advancing sustainable farming, food security, and environmental restoration.
Shared Values, Shared Impact
✔ 🌿 Plant-Based Food Security – Promotes regenerative farming and food forests for a sustainable future.
✔ 🌎 Environmental Action – Restores land, conserves water, and builds climate resilience.
✔ 🤝 Empowering Communities – Supports farmers, women, and youth in creating self-sufficient food systems.
✔ 🌍 Global Food Justice – Ethical, plant-based nutrition should be accessible to all.
Stronger Together
Supporting Umoja Greenlands means building a healthier, more just, and sustainable world—both in Canada and beyond.
💚 Join us in growing the movement! 🚀 #FoodJustice #Sustainability #PlantBasedFuture
Why?
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms states, in section 2A, that every Canadian citizen is entitled to freedom of conscience and religion. Therefore, the choice of vegan food cannot be ignored, since it is clearly a matter of conscience. As a result, no one today should be forced to consume meat, milk, cheese, or eggs if these foods are inconsistent with their deep ethical, social, and environmental values. Read More…

Testimonials
James Aspey
It’s a basic principle of ethics not to cause unnecessary suffering to others. When people choose not to eat animal products, this is often based on strong ethical convictions. The government should not oblige people to eat animal products when they eat at government-run institutions. Providing a vegan option to everyone is also a practical means of promoting a more compassionate society.
